SCOUTING THE FLASHES
Kent State posted a team season-high score March 2 against nationally-ranked Ohio State, but the Buckeyes were nearly flawless on their final two rotations to defeat the Golden Flashes 196.925-195.775, in Columbus, Ohio.
Sophomore Marie Case (Erie, Pa.) earned her second MAC Gymnast of the Week honor for the season after winning the all-around against Ohio State. Case scored a 39.250, just off her MAC-leading mark from a week ago, to claim all-around honors.
Senior Rachel Goldenberg (Doylestown, Pa.) tied her career best on the vault against the Buckeyes while junior Lauren Wozniak (Pittsburgh, Pa.) set a career-high with scores of 9.900, which tied for second overall. Rachel Guida (Cumberland, R.I.) and Whitnee Johnson (Columbia, Mo.) also had personal bests on the vault.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Bowling Green (1-11, 0-4 MAC) is in search of its first MAC victory of the season after last week's 194.050-193.900 setback at Ball State. Sunday marks the fourth consecutive meet on the road for the Falcons.
Kent State wraps up the regular season Sunday, March 18 when the Golden Flashes entertain Cornell at 1 p.m. at the MAC Center. Kent State will then prepare for the 2012 MAC Championship Saturday, March 24 hosted by Northern Illinois.
