Kent State Women’s Basketball Defeated At Eastern Michigan
Llobet hits double figures for 10th time in 2011-12, leads Flashes with 13 points
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Kent State women's basketball team lost a Mid-American Conference interdivision road game at Eastern Michigan, 83-47, Saturday (Feb. 11) at the Convocation Center.
The Golden Flashes (5-16, 4-7 MAC) have lost four straight and finish with a 2-4 record against MAC West opponents in 2011-12 with the loss to the Eagles (17-7, 9-2 MAC).
Freshman guard Itziar Llobet (Sant Cugat de Valles, Spain) led Kent State with 13 points and was one of three Flashes to finish in double figures in scoring. She reached double digits for the 10th time this season and second time in the last three games while also dishing out a game-high four assists. Junior guard Tamzin Barroilhet (Sainte Maxime, France) and junior forward Diamon Beckford (Upper Darby, Pa.) each finished with 10 points apiece. Beckford hit double digits for the 10th time in 2011-12 and second game in a row while Barroilhet reached double figures for the eighth time this season and second straight game.
Senior guard Tavelyn James poured in a game-high 40 points, knocking down 10 three pointers. Senior forward Paige Redditt added 15 points and achieved a double-double with 10 rebounds. She also tallied a game-high three steals. Sophomore guard Natachia Watkins hauled in a game-high 11 rebounds.
