Ha's even-par 72 leads Kent State on final day

ATHENS, Ga. – In a tournament that featured 14 of the nation's top 50 women's golf programs, the Kent State women's golf team concluded the 40^th annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Sunday, as the team finished up the 18-team event in 14^th place.

Freshman Jennifer Ha (Calgary, Alberta) shook off a double-bogey to start the day with a pair of birdies on both the front and back nines on her way to an even-par 72 for Kent State's top round of the day. Ha finished the tournament in a tie for 40^th place, up 10 spots from the start of the day and three strokes out of a top 25 finish.

Senior Mandi Morrow (Kent, Ohio) trimmed a pair of strokes off her Saturday round with a four-over 76, helped by a pair of birdies, on each on the front and the back. Morrow finished tied for 59^th place.

Senior Mercedes Germino (Necochea, Argentina) dropped off her pace from the previous two days, posting a five-over 77 on Sunday to finish tied for 28^th as Kent State's top individual for the weekend.

Sophomore Erin Hawe (Walton, New Zealand) and senior Shamira Marshall (Macedonia, Ohio) each shot five-over 77 on Sunday. Hawe finished tied for 53^rd overall, while Marshall tied for 66^th place.

Second-ranked Alabama was the lone team to finish under par on the weekend, as the Tide finished 10-under to win the tournament title by 12 strokes. Alabama was led by tournament medalist Jennifer Kirby's seven-under 209.

Kent State will be back in action April 21-22 for its final regular season event, as the Golden Flashes will take part in Ohio State's Lady Buckeye Invitational.
