T&F NCAA East Region Prelim Update: Flashes Send 5 More to Outdoor Championships

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a successful day two at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round at the University of North Florida on Fri., May 30, Kent State's track and field teams send five more athletes to Eugene, Ore. for the National Championships.
The Golden Flashes will send Miles Dunlap (400m Hurdles), Matthias Tayala (Hammer), Dior Delophont (High Jump), Danniel Thomas (Discus) and Joh'Vonnie Mosley (Discus) to the NCAA Championships in Eugene along the side of Roseanne Erickson (Long Jump), who advanced yesterday with a seventh place finish with a final distance of 6.25m (20' 6.25").
Tayala took home second place in the hammer throw with a distance of 69.24m (227' 2").
Delophont, who finished the high jump tied for eighth at 1.77m (5' 9.75"), advanced to Eugene after posting a best height of 1.79m (5' 10.5') in the jump-off at the East Region Preliminaries.
Thomas finished the discus in fifth place with a mark of 55.94m (183' 6"), while Mosley finished in 11th at 53.42m (175' 3"). Both Thomas and Mosley advance to the finals on June 11-14 in Eugene.
Dunlap finished the quarterfinals of the 400m Hurdles with a time of 51.41 for 12th place.
Wayne Gordon advances to the quarterfinals of the men's 200m dash on Sat., May 31 at 7:30 p.m. He took home 22nd place in the first round with a time of 21.11.
Ann Marie Duffus competed in the 100m Hurdles and finished 35th with a time of 13.81.
Jailyn Twitty finished the triple jump with a mark of 14.11m (46' 3.5") for 43rd place.
The Golden Flashes continue to compete in the NCAA Division I East Region Preliminary Round tomorrow, Sat., May 31 starting at 12 p.m. with the men's pole vault and men's discus.
