
Bath Leads Heptathlon After Day 1 at MAC Indoor T&F Championships

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Ayden Bath leads the heptathlon field by more than 300 points after the first day of competition at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Men's Track and Field Championship.
Bath recorded personal-best performances in the 60-meter dash (6.98), long jump (23'-6.25") and high jump (6'-7.5") to place first in each event. He finished second in the shot put (40'-6.25") and totaled 3,193 points for the day. Andrew Adragna (2,533) and Mason Murphy (2,480) are also in contention to score points and sit fifth and eighth, respectively, with three events to be held on Saturday.
Trey Double, Owen Miller, Jacob Mirabell and Ethan Yost placed second in the distance medley relay with a time of 9:58.95 to earn All-MAC honors.
The Flashes secured three points in the long jump. Del'Mario Hairston recorded a jump of 23'-3.5" for fifth place and Alex Shields had a top jump of 22'-11.25" for sixth.
Donovan Crawford added one point with a sixth place showing in the weight throw. Crawford's best throw soared 58'-8".
The Flashes totaled six qualifiers in the three prelims races. Sean Callahan Jr., and Dejon Manning qualified in the 60-meter-dash. Connor Boland moved on in the 400-meter dash. Quintin Cooks, Caleb Bost and Dylan McBride qualified in the 800-meter run.
The final day of the championship meet will continue on Saturday with the heptathlon at 10 a.m. Running events will start at 1:40 p.m. with the mile.
