2009-10: Finished 9-8 in redshirt freshman season...placed fifth at Purple Raider Open, going 4-2 with a pair of pins...also captured fifth place at Michigan State Open...won first two matches at Hokie Open, including a major decision.

2008-09: Was redshirted...finished 5-10 in open tournament action.

Prior to Kent State: Finished high school with a record of 133-40...the 133 wins is the most for a wrestler in Norton’s history...won a Portage Trail Conference championship in his weight class his sophomore, junior and senior seasons...was a sectional champ two times and was district champ his junior season...placed sixth at the Ohio State Wrestling championships his junior season in 2007...was coached by his father at Norton, Eugene Leonard...also lettered three times in football and twice in track while at Norton.

Personal: Born June 29, 1989...son of Eugene and Paula Leonard...has one sister, Megan...father was a KSU wrestler from 1978-82...majoring in exploratory studies.
