KSU CAREER: An outstanding four-year letterwinner (1945-48) on the Golden Flash basketball squad…Selected to the All-Ohio team as a freshman…At one time he held five KSU scoring records including most points (game, season, and career) best FG percentage and best FT percentage…A four-year starter and team captain as a senior…Won the Manchester Cup Award in 1945…HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Lettered in both basketball (2) and baseball (1) at Alliance High School…Graduated in 1944…Selected All-County in basketball as a senior…POST KSU CAREER: Played AAU basketball for Joe’s All Star Café, a top-notch Akron team…Has served as the head basketball, cross country, and track coach at Case Western Reserve University since 1954…Selected as the PAC-NCAC cross country Coach of the Year 13 times, track Coach of the Year 10 times…Has coached CWRU to more than 200 basketball victories and more that 600 combined wins in all three sports…A former member of the United States Olympic Basketball Committee…President of the Ohio Cross Country Coaches Association…A certified football and basketball official for 40 years…PERSONAL: Born on January 17, 1926 in York, Pennsylvania…Received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Kent State in 1948 and his M.Ed. from Kent in 1956…Member of Sigma Nu fraternity…Member of the NCAA Coaches Association for basketball, track, and cross country…OHSAA Football and Basketball Officials Association…Enjoys reading, golf, and squash…Has one daughter, Susan.
