HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A 1951 graduate of Wadsworth Central High School in Wadsworth, Ohio…Lettered in football as a prep…School had no wrestling program…KSU CAREER: Won Mid-American Conference titles at 123 pounds for the Flashes in 1954 and 1955…Placed fourth in the NCAA at 115 pounds in 1954 to earn All-America honors…Captured the prestigious 4-1 Championship at 115 pounds in 1955…Placed third in the NEO AAU 115 pound class in 1953…Received the Kent Booster Award in 1955…Member of the Industrial Arts Club, Sigma Theta Epsilon (where he served as president in 1954-55) and Epsilon Pi Tau…Received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts in 1955 and his masters’ degree 1960…POST KSU CAREER: Won the AAU 115 pound championship in 1956…Placed third in the 1957 AAU National Tournament at 114.5 pounds and won the 1957 Lake Erie AAU Championship at 115 pounds…PERSONAL: Born in Wadsworth, Ohio…Served in the Ohio Air National Guard…Retired from Buffalo State University…Life Member of the American Industrial Arts Association…Member of the Masonic Lodge…He and his wife, Joyce, have three children; Darren, Denise, and Doug.
