Born Jan. 4, 1904 in Akron, Ohio…Graduated from KSU in 1928 (mathematics major)…Attended Central High in Akron and graduated in 1921…Participated in track and basketball and earned a varsity letter in track in 1921…At Kent he earned letters in basketball in 1922, 1923, and 1928 (cq), track (1922-23), and baseball (1922-23)…Teach/Coach for several year in junior high and high school…Began long administrative career at the University of Akron in 1934, including period as athletic director (three years, 1939-42)…Retired from Akron in 1964 after 40 years service in public education…Besides his athletic accomplishments at Kent, he was sports editor of the campus newspaper (1927-28) and president of the senior class…He served as chairman of the 50th Anniversary Reunion Committee in 1978 and established the “Golden Fifty Scholarship and Loan Fund” at KSU…Married to the former Marjorie Wilmont of Chardon, Ohio.
