A well honored student-athlete on and off the court, Shearer was the 2006 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year which capped off a senior season in which she was the MAC Player of the Year and also named to All-America Teams by Kodak and the Women’s Basketball News. An Academic All-American in 2004 & 2005 as well, she still holds the Kent State single game scoring record with her 44 point performance against Bowling Green in the 2005 MAC Championship game. A native of Minerva, Ohio she totaled 1,799 career points ranking her fourth all-time at Kent State.
