HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A 1956 graduate of Cleveland’s West Tech High School where he earned five varsity letters in baseball (3), football, and wrestling…KSU CAREER: An outstanding grappler for coach Joe Begala’s squad from 1957-60…Was undefeated in dual meet competition in both his sophomore and senior seasons, posting 9-0 records each time…Won the Mid-American Conference championship at 134 pounds in 1960…Placed second in the MAC in 1958 and third in 1959…Earned All-America honors with a fourth place finish in the NCAA at 137 pounds in 1960…Captured the 4-1 championship in 1959 and placed second in 1958 and 1960…Captained the Flashes as a senior…Lost just one dual match in his Kent career while posting a record of 59-8…Received his bachelor’s degree in Art in 1961 and earned his masters’ degree in Art/Painting and Sculpture in 1967…POST KSU CAREER: Has been coaching wrestling for 30 years at Brunswick and Valley Forge high schools…Coached Brunswick to a pair of Chippewa Conference titles (1964 & 65) and the 1965 sectional championship…His Valley Forge teams have captured five league titles and posted three runner-up finishes…PERSONAL: Full name is Patrick Dominick Semary…Born on March 15, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio…He and his wife, Gail, have four children; Christopher, Matthew, Sandra, and Patrick…Currently serving as an art teacher and head wrestling coach at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights…Is a member of the NEA, OEA, and NEO Coaches and Officials Association.
