KSU CAREER: Earned four Varsity “K’s” in football (3) and track (1) under coach Trevor Rees and Jay Fischer from 1958-60…Chosen All-MAC quarterback in 1958 (first team) and 1959 (second team)…Selected team MVP and captain as a senior in 1960…HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Graduated from Upper Darby High School in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania in 1956…Earned varsity letters three times each in football and basketball as a prep…An All-State selection in football and basketball in 1955 and 1956…Was team captain and MVP of each sport as a senior…POST KSU CAREER: Played professional football for the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, and Oakland Raiders from 1960-62…PERSONAL: Born on July 1, 1938 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania…Earned his BA from KSU in 1960, majoring in biology and physical education…Also received his M.Ed from Kent in 1964 and his PhD in physiology from Ohio State in 1968…Served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves…Currently a professor of biology at the University of Akron and the Director of Patient Research fro the Musculo-Skeletal Lad, Akron City Hospital…Member of the American Physiological Society and the Ohio Academy of Science…Has four children: Dana, Greg, Kara, and Rick.
