Richard "Dick" Raidel HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A 1950 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School in Youngstown…Earned varsity letters in football and track in 1948-50…Was a member of the All-County team in football…KSU CAREER: Played for the Flashes from 1950-53 and earned three Varsity “K’s”…Named outstanding freshman in 1950…All-Ohio and All-MAC first team pick as a sophomore…All-MAC second team member during his junior and senior seasons and All-Ohio as a junior…Played tackle for coach Trevor Rees and was team captain as a senior…Received his bachelor’s degree in industrial arts in 1954 and his Master of Education degree in1960…POST KSU CAREER: Drafted by the Cleveland Browns of the NFL as their 16th pick in the 1954 draft…PERSONAL: Born on March 8, 1933 in Youngstown, Ohio…Following a stint with the Cleveland Browns, he taught at Brookfield High School and in the Bristol Local and Lakeview Local School system in Cortland, Ohio…Is a member of the Cortland Rotary Club and several education associations…He and his wife, Adrienne, have three children, Rick, Randy, and Robin.
