HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A 1974 graduate of Mansfield Malabar High School in Mansfield, Ohio…Earned varsity letters in track (2), football (2), and basketball (1) and set school records in the 100 yard dash (.5) and 200 yard dash (21.6)…Was Cardinal Conference champion and state runner-up in the 100 yard dash…KSU CAREER: Earned four Varsity “K’s” as a sprinter for the Golden Flashes indoor and outdoor track teams…Set school record in the 100 meters with a clocking of 10.1 seconds in 1979 (mark since tied by Hall of Famer and Olympian, Thomas Jefferson)…Was Mid-American Conference 100 meter dash champ in 1979 (10.84)…Was All-Ohio 100 meter champ as well…Earned All-America honors with a third place finish in the 60 meter dash at the 1979 NCAA Indoor Track Championships…Coached by Doug Raymond and Orin Richburg…Was a member of the Student Advisory Committee and the Foreign Language Committee as a student…Received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Kent in 1981…POST KSU CAREER: Signed as a free agent cornerback with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL in 1979 and was released in 1980…PERSONAL: Full name is Terry Darnell Carter…Born on June 18, 1955 in Mansfield, Ohio…Currently serving as a director with the City of Mansfield…He and his wife, Danita, have two children Tyonna and Dyonna.
