Following a strong first half from the Zips, the three-seeded Golden Flashes closed the gap to a single possession multiple times while UA kept them at arm's length.

Delrecco Gillespie dropped 27 points with eight rebounds and Morgan Safford added 24 points as the third-seeded Golden Flashes advanced to Friday's semifinal round.
CLEVELAND – Kent State Men's Basketball (23-8, 14-4 MAC) begins play in the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championship Tournament on Thursday, March 12. The third seeded Golden Flashes will tip-off against the sixth seeded Ohio Bobcats in the fourth and final game of the first round at 7:00 p.m. or 30 minutes following the conclusion of game three. All MAC Tournament games will take place inside Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland.
