Bedford Named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

KENT, Ohio Senior forward Bryan Bedford (Racine, Wisc./Case) has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 25.

Bedford averaged 14.5 points on 71 percent shooting (10-of-14) from the field and shot 55 percent from behind the arc (6-of-11) in helping lead Kent State to wins over Mid-American Conference West leaders Western Michigan University and the University of Toledo. He also pulled down three rebounds in each contest while commiting only one turnover. For the season, Bedford is averaging 8.3 points and 2.9 rebounds while dishing out 15 assists and only turning the ball over six times for the MAC East-leading Golden Flashes (13-3, 7-1).

The Kent State men's basketball team is next in action Saturday when the Golden Flashes host the University of Akron at 2 p.m.
