Men's Basketball Falls To Miami 70-45

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) -- Danny Horace had 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Miami of Ohio took control early to beat Kent State 70-45 Wednesday night.
The RedHawks led 42-11 at halftime, and it didn't matter that they were outscored by 6 in the second half.
Nathan Peavy added 13 points for Miami (18-8, 12-5 Mid-American Conference).
Demetrius Johnson scored 11 points and Jason Edwin had 10 for Kent State (18-11, 10-70).
Miami shot 47 percent from the field, compared with 28 percent by Kent State -- just 9 percent (2-of-22) in the first half -- and out-rebounded the Flashes 46-33.
Miami jumped to an 8-0 lead on a basket by Horace and 3-pointers by Monty St. Clair and Peavy, and Kent State never recovered. The lead reached 33 points when Horace scored on a layup with 27 seconds left in the first half.
Kent State never got closer than 21 points the rest of the way.
