Men's Basketball vs. Northern Illinois Feb. 12 Named MAC TV Game of the Week, Time Moved to Noon

CLEVELAND, Ohios-- The Mid-American Conference announced today that the Northern Illinois at Kent State game on Feb.12 has been selected as the second of four scheduled MAC Mens Basketball Game of the Week telecasts. The game will air live on Fox Sports Net Ohio, Comcast Local and Adelphia 13 (NY) and is scheduled to tip off at Noon EST/11 a.m. CST. Chicago Sports Net Chicago will air the game on same day delay at 1 p.m.
Northern Illinois (11-7, 6-4 MAC) and Kent State (14-6, 8-1 MAC) are both leading their respective divisions as the game could have implications on the seeding for the upcoming MAC Tournament. Michael Reghi will call the play-by-play with Greg Kelser adding the commentary. This will mark the 41st meeting between the two teams with the Golden Flashes holding a 23-17 advantage.
Kent State jumped out to a 7-0 start in MAC play for the first time in program history before falling to Bowling Green. KSU bounced back with a 70-52 victory over Buffalo on Sunday. The Golden Flashes rank second in the MAC in scoring (72.0 ppg) and first rebounding margin (+3.0), are second in scoring margin (+7.4) and second in rebounding offense (34.2)
The Huskies are off to their best start since the 1995-96 campaign when the Huskies went 11-4 on their way to a berth in the NCAA Tournament. NIU has registered wins over Big East member DePaul (78-77) and Big 12 member Kansas State (75-70, OT) this season. NIU is led by James Hughes (10.4 ppg.) and Todd Peterson (10.4 ppg.). Mike McKinney is also averaging double-figures with 10.2 ppg.
