Kent State-Miami match-up selected as MAC TV Game of the Week

The Kent State women's game, also against Miami and originally scheduled for 2 p.m. at the M.A.C. Center, will tip-off at 7 p.m.
The game will be the third straight appearance on the Game of the Week for Kent State and, including this weekend's Bracket Busters' contest against Butler University, the fourth straight weekend appearance on TV for the Golden Flashes.
Miami (13-8, 10-3 MAC) is currently trailing Kent State (17-7, 11-2 MAC) by one game in the East Division with both teams looking to secure first-round byes in the upcoming MAC Tournament. Michael Reghi will call the play-by-play with Chad Estis adding the commentary. The two teams last met on January 24th with Kent State getting the 53-46 road win. The game will mark the 117th meeting between the two on the hardwood with the RedHawks holding a 80-36 advantage.
The Golden Flashes have won four of its last five heading into tonight's game in Upstate New York at the University at Buffalo. Kent State has made the M.A.C. Center a tough place to play since the start of the 1998-99 season. The Golden Flashes have posted a 90-16 (.849) record at home during the last seven seasons. KSU's 10-1 start to conference play tied for the third-best one-loss start in school history. KSU's Jay Youngblood ranks eighth in the MAC in scoring with 14.1 ppg., while DeAndre Haynes is 13th with 12.4 ppg.
The RedHawks are currently riding a four game win streak after defeating Ball State in double overtime on Sunday, 67-63. In Miami's first eight-game cross-over against Mid-American Conference West Division teams, the RedHawks posted a 7-1 record. Miami ranks 25th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 60.0 ppg. In Mid-American Conference play, the RedHawks rank first in scoring defense (57.7), rebounding defense (29.1), defensive rebounds (26.54) and field goal percentage defense (.387). Miami is led by William Hatcher (14.3 ppg., 4.5 apg.), Tim Pollitz (11.9 ppg., 5.9 rpg.) and Nathan Peavy (11.4 ppg., 7.3 rpg.).
