Men's Basketball Goes Back on the Road Looking for first MAC Win at Buffalo Wednesday

KENT, Ohio Following the heartbreak of a last-second loss at Miami University on Sunday, the Kent State University men's basketball team heads to Upstate New York for its third straight road game Wednesday night, Jan. 10, at the University at Buffalo. The Mid-American Conference East Division clash tips off at 7 p.m. from UB's Alumni Arena.
• The Golden Flashes (7-7, 0-1 MAC) have lost two straight overall and opened league play with a loss for the first time in 10 years, losing at Miami 65-63 on a RedHawk jumper with two seconds remaining. KSU has not dropped its first two league games since 1996-97.
• The Bulls (8-6, 0-1 MAC) also lost their league lid lifter in heartbreaking fashion on the road, failing to hold an 11-point lead at Bowling Green State University Sunday (Jan. 7) and ultimately falling 74-73 on a three-pointer with... two seconds remaining.
• This marks the 21st meeting on the hardwood for Kent State and Buffalo. The Golden Flashes have dominated the series, leading 17-3 and winning three straight and four-of-five against the Bulls. The last time these two teams met, Kent State posted a 76-67 victory in the 2006 FirstEnergy MAC Tournament quarterfinal Mar. 9.
