KENT, Ohio With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Kent State University men's basketball team plays the first of two straight road games Saturday, Feb. 24, at Ohio University. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. for the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio.
• Just two games separates the top four teams in the Mid-American Conference East Division standings. The Golden Flashes are tied with the University of Akron for first place, one game ahead of Miami University. Ohio is in fourth place, a game behind the RedHawks.
• Kent State (18-9, 10-3 MAC), which has won three straight and nine-of-ten, moved into a tie for first place in the MAC East Division with a 68-64 victory over the University at Buffalo Wednesday night (Feb. 21). The win gave Kent State double digit conference wins for the ninth straight season.
• Ohio (17-10, 8-5 MAC) snapped a season-long three-game losing streak Wednesday with an 88-63 thumping of Bowling Green State University on the road.
• This will be the 122nd all-time meeting on the hardwood between Kent State and Ohio. The Bobcats lead the series 84-37, but Kent State has won four in a row, including a 67-65 overtime decision earlier this season in Kent. The Flashes won in Athens last season for the first time since 2002. For more information on the Kent State-Ohio series, turn to page 3.

QUICK FLASHES
• The Convocation Center in Athens has been somewhat of a house of horrors for the Golden Flashes. Since the building opened in 1968, Kent State is just 7-30 there. Last year's 73-60 victory was the first for the Flashes at the Convo since 2002. All-time, Kent State is just 7-48 in Athens.
• With its victory over Buffalo Feb. 21, the Golden Flashes won their tenth MAC game of the season, reaching double figures in conference victories for the ninth straight year. The nine-year run is the longest such streak in MAC history, besting Ball State's eight double-digit MAC win seasons from 1988-1996.
• In winning nine of their last 10 games, the Golden Flashes are limiting opponents to just 56.5 points and 40.5% shooting.
• Through 13 league games, the Flashes are allowing just 59.0 points per game in conference play and holding foes to just 41.2% shooting, the lowest in the MAC.
• Coinciding with the Flashes' current 10-game run, since Jan. 20, the lineup of Mike Scott, Rodriquez Sherman, Chris Singletary, Julian Sullinger and Jordan Mincy is 9-1.
• With its victory Feb. 17 at George Mason, Kent State improved to 8-1 this season on Saturdays. The only loss this year on a Saturday came Nov. 25 in double overtime at Butler. The Flashes are 7-0 on Saturday afternoon.
• Up next, the Flashes are at Bowling Green Thursday, Mar. 1, at 7 p.m.
