Fisher Named Kent State Athlete of the Week

Junior guard Al Fisher (Pennsauken, N.J.,/ Redlands C.C.) has been named the Kent State Athlete of the Week. Last week, Fisher and the rest of the Golden Flashes basketball team defeated rival Akron 75-69 and Western Michigan 67-58 to move into first place in the Mid-American Conference.
On Wednesday against Akron, Fisher scored 16 points and added three assists and two rebounds. He shot 4-8 from the field, including 2-3 from beyond the arc, and made 6-8 from the charity stripe.
Against Western Michigan on Sunday, Fisher scored 17 points and had career-highs in rebounds and blocks with seven and two respectively. He shot 5-13 from the field but a perfect 6-6 from the line.
Kent State returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Eastern Michigan for a 7 p.m. tip.
