The Game
Kent State (8-9; 1-2) heads to Western New York looking to even its Mid-American Conference record on Wednesday night at Buffalo. The Golden Flashes have won seven straight against the Bulls and own a 21-3 mark in the all-time series.
Kent State is coming off a 66-55 loss to Miami on Saturday. Senior Al Fisher, once again led KSU with a team high 14 points. Fisher, a Honorable Mention All-American honoree last season, is averaging 18.7 ppg during league play ranking him third in the league. He also is third during MAC play with 5.0 assists per game. Junior Mike McKee connected on four three-pointers to total 12 points in the contest. McKee led KSU with 43 three-point field goals last season. Of his 23 field goals 18 have come from beyond the arc this year. Junior Brandon Parks, who leads the team with 6.4 rpg in 2008-09, grabbed a team with nine rebounds. One game after a season best 94.1 percent (16-17) performance from the foul line, Kent State made 70 percent (7-10) from the charity stripe for the second consecutive game. The Golden Flashes are shooting 85.1 percent in the last two games.
Buffalo (10-5; 2-1) has won five of the last six games and entered Tuesday in a three way tie a top the MAC East standings. The Bulls have won three straight at home after a four-point loss to No. 2 Connecticut on Dec. 4. Rodney Pierce leads the team with 15.0 ppg this season.
