Kent State Wraps Up Non-Conference Schedule On Monday Night At Temple

The Game
Kent State (7-6) wraps up its non-conference schedule on Monday night at Temple looking for a second straight road win. The Golden Flashes have won four of the last five overall after a 68-43 victory at Hampton on Saturday night.
Junior guard Tyree Evans led KSU with 21 points against Hampton, including a 5-8 effort from three. In his four games, Evans is averaging 16.5 points and shooting 53.8 percent (14-26) from three. Junior guard Chris Singletary was also in double figures with 11 points while adding eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Singletary, who has led the team in assists seven times this season, has recorded 24 assists (6.0 pg) in the last four games. Kent State's most experienced post player, Julian Sullinger posted his second straight double digit game and his fourth of the season scoring 10 points to go with six rebounds. Sullinger has been key to Kent State's success this season averaging 9.4 points and shooting 71 percent in the seven wins. Evans' five three-pointers highlighted a 9-20 effort from beyond the arc for KSU, which has made 21 (10.5 pg) three-pointers in the last two games after averaging just 5.0 made in the first 11 games.
Temple (5-6) enters the game having lost three straight after a Dec. 13 upset of Tennessee. The Owls are coming off a 62-45 loss at Villanova last Monday in which they scored just 20 second half points. This is just the third home game of the year for Temple which is led by Donte Christmas with 20.1 ppg this season.
