Kent State Returns To Action On Tuesday Night At Morehead State

The Game
Winners of seven of the last nine games, Kent State (9-3) travels to Morehead State (6-6) on Tuesday night looking for its first road win of the season.
After extending their own home court winning streak to 15 with a 71-58 win over Youngstown State last Tuesday, the Golden Flashes are looking to hand the Eagles their first home loss since winning 63-57 in Johnson Arena on Nov. 29 last year. Since Kent State's victory last season, Morehead State has ripped off 19 straight home wins and currently owns the sixth longest active winning streak in the nation.
The veteran duo of Justin Greene and Rodriquez Sherman combined for 41 points including 27 in the second half in the win over Youngstown State. Since being taken out of the starting line-up against South Florida, Greene has responded with back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in his career averaging 18.0 points and12.0 rpg during the two-game span. The 6-8 junior forward is averaging 18.1 ppg on the season the season and Kent State is 7-2 when he leads the team in scoring.
Sherman equaled a career high with 20 points on Tuesday night while adding five assists and connecting a perfect 9-9 from the foul line. In the last four games the 6-2 senior guard is averaging 13.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg while shooting 16-18 (89 percent) from the foul line.
In a line-up that consists of nine players in their first year of action for the Kent State program, its the veteran duo of Sherman and Greene help stabilize the offense accounting for 29.4 points (42 percent) of the Golden Flashes production.
Morehead State has lost three straight following an 86-85 overtime loss at the buzzer at Austin Peay last Tuesday. The Eagles are 5-0 at home this year. Kenneth Faried leads the team with 18.3 ppg and is the nation's top rebounder with 14.3 rpg.

Hartman Goes From the Grind Iron to the Court
The Golden Flashes welcomed the addition of Dan Hartman to the line-up on Dec. 26.
A 6-2, 205 pound guard, Hartman joins the team as a walk-on after starting 11 games for the Kent State football team this past fall.
As a safety, Hartman made 59 tackles, intercepted two passes and also forced a pair of fumbles.
Was a three-year letter winner and 1,000-point scorer in basketball for LaBrae High School where he received all-county, conference and district honors.
