Cross Country Squads Set for Buffalo Stampede

The Kent State cross country program opens its second weekend of competition Saturday (Sept. 18), heading to western New York to compete in the Buffalo Stampede.
The women's 5K race gets underway from Beaver Island State Park at noon with the men's 8K following at 12:45 p.m.
SCOTTY DO
Senior Scott Hilditch (Stow, Ohio) clocked a 19:57 to win the four-mile Tommy Evans Invitational last Thursday (Sept. 9) and break the course record at Firestone Metro Park. Hilditch's time bested the 20:18 his former teammate Aiman Scullion set last year. He was honored as the Mid-American Conference Men's Runner of the Week by the conference office.
MAGNIFICENT MAHEU
Junior Audrey Maheu (Bristolville, Ohio) led the way on the women's side at the Tommy Evans Invitational, timing in at 18:56 to take fifth in the 5K race.
GOOD START GOODWIN
Freshman Andrew Goodwin (Celina, Ohio) enjoyed a strong start to his collegiate career, taking fifth on the men's side with a time of 20:28 at the Tommy Evans Invitaitonal.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Golden Flashes are back in action when they travel to Lehigh, Pa., Oct. 1 for the Paul Short Invitational.
