Kent State Cross Country Releases 2011 Schedule

KENT, Ohio -- Seventh-year Kent State cross country head coach Mark Croghan and seventh-year Kent State director of track & field Bill Lawson announced the release of the 2011 schedule Friday (August 5).
The Golden Flashes will open the season Sept. 8 in Akron, Ohio, at the Tommy Evans Invitational, then head north to East Lansing, Mich., to partake in the Spartan Invitational. Kent State closes out the September stretch on the 30th at the All-Ohio Championships in Cedarville, Ohio. October features two races in Muncie, Ind., with the Ball State Invitational (Oct. 14) serving as a precursor to the Mid-American Conference Championships (Oct. 29). The Flashes will prep for national competition at the Rocket Open in Toledo, Ohio, Nov. 4 before running at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Toledo on Nov. 12. The NCAA Championships are slated to be held Nov. 21 in Eugene, Ore.
Kent State tied for second on the men's side at the 2010 conference championship meet while the women's team placed ninth.
