Kent State Back On the Road This Saturday Night At Toledo

The Game
Kent State (13-6; 3-3) continues a challenging stretch consisting of four of five games on the road this Saturday by traveling to Toledo (10-10; 2-4) for a Mid-American Conference cross divisional contest tipping off at 7:00 pm. The Golden Flashes are seeking their second straight win and first MAC road victory of the season.
Producing the highest scoring offense in the league during MAC play with an average of over 76 points per game, Kent State poured in another 90 points in a 34-point victory over Northern Illinois on Wednesday. The Golden Flashes are also tops in the league in conference games shooting 48.4 percent from the field including an impressive 56 percent in the first half alone.
The balanced offense has seen a different leading scorer in each of the last four games. It was freshman Kris Brewer's turn on Wednesday as he totaled a career best 15 points to lead five players in double figures. Senior forward Justin Greene added 14 points on 4-4 from the field and 6-7 from the foul line. The 2011 MAC Player of the Year, Greene is averaging 16.2 points and shooting 60 percent in MAC play this season.
The Kent State line-up has also been bolstered by the play of junior forward Chris Evans the last four games. During the stretch Evans is averaging 13.6 points and shooting 67.6 percent from the field. In addition he has 10 offensive rebounds, doubling that of any other Kent State player in the last four games.
Toledo has won two of the last three following a 63-61 win at Miami on Wednesday. Guard Rian Pearson, who had 23 points and 10 rebounds in the win leads the squad with 16.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this season.
