Complete Kent State men's schedule with game times
KENT, Ohio – Kent State was well represented as the Mid-American Conference has announced its television package for the 2012-13 basketball season on Wednesday (Oct. 3). The most successful program in the conference over the past decade and a half, the Golden Flashes are guaranteed at least seven television appearances with the option of being picked up for an additional six more with the MAC's 21-day Wildcard Selection package.
A nationally televised ESPN audience will be watching Kent State take on Temple in the M.A.C. Center on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Selected for ESPN's fifth annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon, the contest is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start time.
The Temple contest is the first of three, non-league games that will be televised for the Golden Flashes. Kent State fans will be able to catch their favorite hoops squad on the Big Ten Network on Saturday, Nov. 24 when the Golden Flashes travel to Lincoln, Neb. to face the Huskers at 9:00 pm (EST). A little closer to home on Dec. 9 is the Kent State-Xavier match-up at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati. That game can be seen on Fox Sports Ohio at 4:00 pm.
As the heart of conference play heats up in January, the Golden Flashes can be found on the league's regional cable partner, SportsTime Ohio (STO). The Kent State STO televised schedule consists of:
- Wednesday, Jan. 16: Kent State @ Buffalo, 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Jan. 26: Ohio @ Kent State, 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 2: Eastern Michigan @ Kent State, 6:00 p.m
- Wednesday, Feb. 13: Miami @ Kent State, 7:00 p.m.
In addition there are three Wildcard Options for the network, the Golden Flashes have the possibility of being selected for. The 21-day advance wildcard options for STO are:
- Saturday, March 2: Two (2) 21-day Wildcard Selections – 12 Noon & 6 pm ET (Kent State @ Miami)
- Tuesday, March 5: 21-day Wildcard Selection, 7 p.m. ET (Bowling Green @ Kent State)
- Saturday, March 9: Two (2) 21-day Wildcard Selections – 12 Noon & 2 or 4 pm ET (Kent State @ Akron)
On the ESPN side there are four dates as possibilities for Wildcard Options in addition to the ESPN BracketBuster event the weekend of Feb. 22-24. The 21-day advance wildcard options for the ESPN family of networks are:
- Saturday, Jan. 19 – 21-Day Wildcard Selection, 3 pm ET/ESPNU (Akron @ Kent State)
- Saturday, Feb. 9 – 21-Day Wildcard Selection, 1pm ET/ESPNU (Central Michigan @ Kent State)
- Saturday, Feb. 16 – 21-Day Wildcard Selection, 11am ET/ESPNU (Kent State @ Ohio)
- Friday, March 8 – 21-Day Wildcard Selection, 7pm ET/ESPN2 (Kent State @ Akron)
The final four rounds of the MAC Tournament which takes place at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio will be televised with the following schedule:
- Wednesday, March 13: MAC Tournament Second Round – 6:30 & 9 pm ET
- Thursday, March 14: MAC Tournament Third Round – 6:30 & 9 pm ET
- Friday, March 15: MAC Tournament Semifinals – 6:30 & 9 pm ET
- Saturday, March 16: First Energy MAC Tournament Championship, 6:30 pm ET (ESPN2)
The Kent State women's team is slated for STO appearances on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Ball State at 12:00 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 23 vs Akron at 12:00 pm
