Senior forward leads Kent State in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, blocks and FG percentage
KENT, Ohio – Kent State senior forward Chris Evans (Chesapeake, Va.) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week for a third time this season in a official announcement made by the league office on Tuesday (Dec. 4). Evans has now won the award three times in four weeks.
The 6'8" forward began last week by leading the Golden Flashes to an overtime win at Youngstown State racking up a career high 24 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. He added another 18 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Princeton on Saturday night. For the week he averaged 21 points 9 rebounds and 2.5 steals in the two games.
On the year Evans leads Kent State in points (18.1 ppg), rebounds (7.6 rpg), assists (2.0 apg), steals (2.5 spg) blocked shots (0.8 bpg) and field goal percentage (54.9%).
It's the fourth time in Evans' career he has been honored.
