Henniger Named MAC East Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio –Kent State senior forward Mark Henniger has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday (Nov. 25).
Henniger averaged 13 points and 4.7 rebounds as Kent State defended its home court and improved to 6-1 with a weekend sweep at the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic subregional in Kent.
The 6'9" senior saved his best performance of the week for last with 20 points in just 22 minutes of action Saturday against Niagara. He had a perfect shooting performance, going 6-for-6 from the field and 8-for-8 at the foul line to post a new career scoring mark for the third time in the past seven days. Just two nights prior, Henniger scored 17 points while grabbing eight rebounds and blocking a pair of shots in the Golden Flashes' victory over Western Carolina. Henniger shot nearly 77% from the field and was perfect from the free throw line (19-for-19) over the three games.
On the season, Henniger 9.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while leading the Flashes in field goal percentage (.741) and free throw percentage (.926).
