The Archer comic strip by Chuck Ayers is getting some national legs.
After receiving some great local press on Wednesday morning in the Record-Courier, Beacon Journal, the Plain Dealer, and Crain's Cleveland Business, the comic version of Kent State speedster Dri Archer  captured the attention of the national media later that afternoon in a feature by Tom Withers of the Associated Press.Â
Look for the story all over the internet, including ESPN.com.
NFL.com's Mike Huguenin also picked up on the story in his NFL Draft 365 column.
Also, be sure to watch WEWS TV-5 tonight in Cleveland. The sportscast on the evening news will take a look at The Archer cartoon.
The comic strip debuted at midnight as part of the Dri4Heisman campaign.Â
A second comic strip will be released Wednesday, Aug. 21. Game preview comic strips, beginning with Liberty, will post Aug. 28 and will continue on Wednesdays throughout the football season.
Kent State's season opens Aug. 29 against Liberty at 6 p.m. Postgame fireworks are presented by AMETEK.
