Evans Inks Deal With Greek Club

KENT, Ohio — Former Kent State forward Chris Evans will begin his professional career in Greece after signing a contract with Aries Trikala BC on Sept. 10.

"I am really happy for Chris," said Kent State head coach Rob Senderoff. "It sounds like a great opportunity for him, and I am very happy that he has a chance to play professional basketball."

A two-year letterwinner for the Golden Flashes, Evans was named First Team All-Mid-American Conference during his senior season. The high-flying forward was among the nation's most-improved players this past season. After playing just 21 minutes per game in 2011-12, Evans paced the Golden Flashes at 16.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

He was the only player in Division I to accumulate 180 field goals, 30 three-pointers, 125 free throws, 250 rebounds, 70 assists, 60 steals, and 20 blocked shots this past season.
Located in Trikala, the club enters its first season competing in the Greek A1 League, which is the highest division of professional basketball in Greece. The club's season is expected to start in early October and conclude near the end of May. Â
