Three Gymnasts Sign NLIs to Join the Golden Flashes in 2015

KENT, Ohio - Kent State University gymnastics coach Brice Biggin announced the signing of three gymnasts to National Letters of Intent. Carmen Jolliff, Sarah Lippowitsch and Kennedy Plude will join the Golden Flashes in the fall of 2015.Â
Jolliff, a member of Gym X-Treme in Lewis Center, Ohio, won the uneven bars, floor and the all-around at the Rock-n-Roll Classic in 2012. She finished first on vault and second all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the For Love or Money meet, she took third in the all-around. At the Queen City Classic, Jolliff won the vault, floor and the all-around. At the Girl Power Invitational, Jolliff won the vault, bars and floor, as she won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She finished third on floor and tenth all-around at Regionals. Jolliff began competing level ten in 2013. She won bars and placed third in the all-around at the Circle of Stars meet. At the Daytona Beach Open, she finished first on the vault, bars, floor and all-around. She placed third on vault at the Buckeye Classic and finished eighth in the all-around at the State Championships. Jolliff finished in the top twenty at Regionals followed by a fourth place finish on bars at the 2014 Universal Galaxy meet. She also competed on bars at the State Championships and took second.
Lippowitsch, a member of Queen City Gymnastics in Cincinnati, Ohio, began competing level ten in 2012. At the Queen City Classic, Lippowitsch finished third on vault. She placed fourth all-around at the Derby Classic and finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She placed third on the beam at Regionals while she competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals. In 2013, Sarah placed third on bars at the Circle of Stars meet, and she sat out the rest of the season. At the San Diego Classic and IGI Chicago Style in 2014, Lippowitsch placed fourth in the all-around. She placed third in the all-around at the Queen City Classic while she finished first on beam and second all-around at the State Championships. She placed fifth in the all-around at Regionals and finished 15th in the all-around and third on balance beam at JO Nationals.
Plude, a member of XTreme Gymnastics in Lee's Summitt, Mo., began competing level ten in 2012. She took second on beam at the Lady Luck Invitational and finished second on floor at the Parkette Invitational. Plude won floor at the Gateway Challenge, while she placed third on beam and floor at the IGI Chicago Style. She finished second on beam, third on floor and fourth in the all-around at the State Championships, followed by a top fifteen finish at Regionals. In 2013, Plude finished third on the bars and beam at the Metroplex Challenge and placed second in the all-around at the Chow's Winter Classic. At the Northern Lights Classic, Plude finished fourth in the all-around. She took third in the all-around at the State Championships, as she placed fifth on vault, second on beam and seventh in the all-around at Regionals. At the JO Nationals, Plude took 18th in the all-around. During the 2013-2014 season, Kennedy took first on balance beam and second in the all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet, and did not compete for the rest of the season.
