Field Hockey Recognized for Academic Success

Kent State field hockey was named a 2013 Gladiator by SGI / National Field Hockey Coaches Asosciation Division I National Academic Team while 14 student-athletes were named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
The award recognizes teams and individuals with a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
Kent State's 14 honorees include three four-year honorees in Sabrina Binder, Melanie Kahn and Rebecca Lee. Also named was Kelly Baick, Karleigh Carlin, Abbie Carrico, Hannah Faulkner, Susanne Felder, Alison Harmatz, Alayna Harris, Alexis Madeira, Shannon Martin, Jenna McHale and Sami Surdy.
14 recipients is the most ever to earn the recognition for Kent State. Ten student-athetes earned the award in 2012.
The Golden Flashes begin their spring season on April 5 at the University of Virginia spring tournament.
