Men's Basketball Visits Local Elementary School

RAVENNA, Ohio – The Kent State men's basketball team visited with students at West Main Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes spent time in classrooms with students from all grades at the school. In addition to speaking about the important role that education has played in becoming collegiate student-athletes, the Flashes read to the students and played flash card games. They also spent time playing with the students during physical education class.
The visit reminded many of the Flashes of their elementary school days.
"When I was in school, I always looked forward to guests visiting," said redshirt junior Jimmy Hall. "It was always fun to hear from new people and do activities that weren't part of the normal school day. You could tell by the look in their eyes when we walked in that the students were so happy for us to be there. It makes me feel good to be able to have the impact on younger kids that others had on me when I was in school."
