Slingluff Named MAC Women's Co-Runner of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday, September 15th that Kent State senior Rachel Slingluff was named the women's co-runner of the week.
Rachel Slingluff was joined by Maria McDaniel from Western Michigan as the women's co-runner of the week.
Slingluff ran a career best 5k time of 18:30.00 for an individual first place victory, which marked her first career Kent State victory.
"Rachel has worked her tail off and has got better in her four years here at Kent State." Cross Country Head Coach Mark Croghan said.
Slingluff led the Golden Flashes to a 3-0 record at the Tommy Evans Invitational at Firestone Metro Park in Akron on September 10th as they defeated rival Akron (19-42), Malone (27-28) and Youngstown State (19-44).
Croghan added "I am really happy for her, she ran a great race at Akron and she definitely expects big things this year, and it makes me excited for the rest of the season to see what she can accomplish."
The Golden Flashes are back in action this weekend, September 18th, when they travel to Blacksburg, Va. to compete in the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite.
