CLEVELAND – Kent State University senior forward Jimmy Hall has been named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team for the third straight season, while fellow senior Deon Edwin earned All-MAC Defensive Team honors.
Hall becomes just the third player in the MAC since 2004 to earn first team honors in three straight seasons, joining Buffalo's Javon McCrea and Ohio's D.J. Cooper. Hall led the Flashes across the board with 18.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. He has dominated the offensive glass, pulling down 4.19 offensive rebounds per game, good for fourth in the nation.
Hall enters the postseason ranked third in both career points and rebounds at Kent State with 1,565 and 810, respectively. He has accomplished those marks in just three seasons as a Golden Flash. He will enter the postseason looking to become the first player at Kent State to ever surpass 1,600 points and 800 rebounds.
Edwin has been a leader on a Flash team that ranks fourth in the conference in scoring defense. Edwin led the Flashes with 43 steals, ranking 10th in the MAC at 1.4 steals per game. Edwin's versatility and strength allows him to play and guard multiple positions on the court. His stellar play was highlighted in the team's most recent win at Bowling Green, when a steal in the post secured the final stop in a much needed road game.
Hall and Edwin will begin postseason play Monday evening at home against the 11th seed, Central Michigan, at 7 p.m.
