COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kent State lost to Ohio State, 3-0, Wednesday evening at Buckeye Field.
Senior Janel Hayes (8-8) had two strikeouts and allowed nine hits in the game.
Junior Emily Dobbin attacked the first pitch of the game for a single, which would be the Flashes' only hit.
"Janel did a good job of throwing strikes and giving our offense a chance to win the game," head coach Eric Oakley said. "Our defense backed her up all game with Maria Cegledy and Olivia Sborlini both making some nice catches. We just didn't make the adjustments at the plate that needed to be made."
The hosts took a 2-0 lead on a two-out double by Taylor White in the bottom of the first inning and added a run on a single by Emily Clark in the fifth
