Jaylin Walker Named MAC Player of the Week

KENT, Ohio- Senior guard Jaylin Walker earned Mid-American Conference Athlete of the Week accolades , his second time this season, after leading the Kent State men's basketball team with a thrilling 70-68 win over Albany last week, the league announced.
Walker led the team with 26 points, his fourth-straight game of scoring 25 or more points. The senior guard also added three rebounds, three steals, and an assist to go with his night. From the floor, he shot 8-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-8 from downtown. Walker drained a 3-pointer with 39 seconds left to put the Flashes in the lead, 68-66. He then hit his final two free throw shots that secured the Flashes' win.
On the season, Walker is averaging 25.4 points per game and is shooting 33-of-60 (55 percent) from 3-point range and 54-of-116 (46.6) from the floor.
Kent State is back in action to kick off the new year and Mid-American Conference play as Bowling Green comes to town on Saturday, Jan. 5. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3.
