Gymnastics Takes First Place at GW Quad

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Kent State gymnastics team grabbed a first-place finish at the GW Quad with an all-around score of 195.550. The Golden Flashes posted season-high scores on floor (49.075) and beam (49.100).
The Flashes started on floor, where sophomore Abby Fletcher led the rotation matching her season-high 9.875 to tie for fourth place. Senior Sarah McCarty tied her season-high 9.850 to tie for seventh place, while junior Jade Brown and sophomore Toshi Richard posted a season-high 9.825.
On beam, five Flashes earned spots in the top-10. Senior Sarah Lippowitsch recorded a career-high 9.850 to tie for first place, earning her first event title of the season. Freshman Riley Danielson also scored a career-high 9.825 to tie for fourth place with senior Kennedy Plude. Sophomore Abby Fletcher and freshman Cami Klein tied for sixth place with a 9.800.
Senior Dara Williams matched her career-high 9.850 on bars to tie for second place. Freshman Madison Iannuzzo scored her career-high 9.825 tying for fourth place. Freshman Madison Trott recorded a 9.775 to tie for seventh place, while junior Gabby Williams tied for 10th place with a 9.750 The Flashes 49.100 is the second highest score in the Mid-American Conference this season.
On vault, Dara Williams took third place with a 9.800, while sophomore Abby Fletcher and freshman Kendra Lindway recorded a 9.700 to finish in 10th.

The Flashes will return to the M.A.C. Center this Sunday to host George Washington and N.C. State at 1 p.m.
