Gymnastics Finishes Fourth at 2019 MAC Championships

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State gymnastics team concluded its season with a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championships in DeKalb, Ill. on Saturday.
Senior Dara Williams, junior Jade Brown and sophomore Abby Fletcher all picked up individual event wins for the Golden Flashes.
The Flashes finished with an all-around score of 194.775, including their second-highest score of the season on floor with 49.175. Brown and Fletcher each recorded scores of 9.900 to tie for first place. Sophomore Toshi Richard scored a 9.825, while sophomore Nasha Manitkul-Davis and freshman Madison Trott scored a 9.775.
Williams scored a 9.850 on bars to tie for the event title. The All-MAC Second Team member also recorded a 9.675 on vault for the Flashes.
Senior Kennedy Plude recorded a 9.875 on beam to finish in third place on the event.
Northern Illinois took home the 2019 MAC Championship with an all-around score of 195.975. They were led by Mia Lord, who scored a 9.900 on beam to claim first place. Anna Martucci tied for first place on floor with a 9.900.
Central Michigan's Denelle Pedrick claimed the all-around title with a score of 39.350.
