BARI, Italy – Former Golden Flashes defender Paige Culver (2015-18) has signed to play professionally with Pink Bari in Italy. The club plays in the top women's league in Italy and Culver has already reported to the team.
The Oakville, Ontario native was Kent State's second ever All-American when she was named to the United Soccer Coaches' Third Team in 2017. That same season, she was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was a USC Scholar All-America First Team honoree. Culver was named to the MAC Herman Trophy Watchlist entering her senior year in 2018 and tabbed a Senior CLASS Award candidate.
She becomes the second Golden Flash to play professionally in Europe this season, joining Jenna Hellstrom (2013-17) who plays for KIF Örebro in Sweden's top league. Hellstrom also made an appearance on Team Canada's World Cup Roster this past summer.
