The Kent State soccer team (2-4-0) will play their final scheduled game of the 2021 spring season on Thursday when they travel to Athens to battle the Ohio Bobcats.
Last Time Out
The Golden Flashes dropped their first Wagon Wheel contest since 2010 on March 28 when they lost to Akron 1-0 off a 15th minute goal. Sarah Melén made three saves and Kent State had an equalizing goal rebound off the post in the 89th minute.
Flash Facts
-Kent State enters the game after having their previous two games postponed due to COVID-19 protocols and are waiting to see if those two games will be rescheduled by the conference.
-This could be Vital Kats' last chance to move up the career assist chart, as she sits on 24 goals, one back of third all-time and three back of second all-time. She also sits one goal back of fifth all-time in career goals, so Kats will move up in the record books if she manages to get her name on the scoresheet.
-Along with Kats, both Maddie Holmes and Yasmine Hall may be playing in their last match as Flashes. Holmes has recorded 10 goals and four assists in 63 games played while Hall has tallied five goals in 11 games at Kent State. Two other players are set to graduate in the spring but have not made an appearance this season: Isabelle Mihail and Faith O'Neill.
Scouting Ohio
Ohio is 2-6-0 this season and enter Thursday's contest after dropping a 2-0 result to Akron on Sunday. The Bobcats are led by Carsyn Prigge and Shae Robertson who both have two goals this spring. They have had three goalkeepers start for them this season, with Sydney Malham earning the two wins with one shut out.
Series History
The Flashes are 14-13-2 against the Bobcats but lost the first meeting with them this season 3-1 with Tianna Harris scoring the lone Kent State goal in the loss.
