Kent, Ohio - The Kent State men's basketball team extended their record 4-0 this afternoon beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff 94-68. This is the first time the Flashes have been 4-0 since the 2019-20 season when the team went 20-12 overall.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff took off right away scoring the first points of the game. The Flashes were adjusting and finding their rhythm; when they did, it was evident. Miryne Thomas helped the team create the energy they needed to get into the game. Thomas cleaned the glass recording a double-double of 13 rebounds and 10 points. Both teams had their chance at the free throw line, but the Flashes shot nearly perfectly, shooting 87 percent from the line.
The Flashes' offense performance could not only be credited to one player. Five Golden Flash players recorded double-digits in points. Sincere Carry and Giovanni Santiago posted a team-high 17 points each.
Despite Golden Lions' Shaun Doss Jr. recording a game-high 29 points, the Flashes' defense deserved high praise recording a team-high 43 rebounds.
the Golden Flashes brought their own energy to the game, creating the atmosphere they needed to win today. Coach Senderoff expressed "We played for each other, nothing else mattered."
