Winters Named Guest of Honor for 10th Annual Scholarship Auction

KENT, OHIO- The Golden Flashes Club is excited to announce that Varsity "K" Hall of Famer Brian Winters ('13) will be the host and guest of honor for the 10th annual scholarship auction scheduled for Friday, April 22nd.
The signature fundraising event makes its triumphant return to center court of the MAC Center. Proceeds support student-athlete scholarships and ensure a first-class experience for our student-athletes. The annual auction is a driving force behind the Department's mission to graduate student-athletes, boldly prepared for life after sport and winning championships.
"We are very excited for the auction return to the MAC Center and I cannot think of a better guest of honor and host to welcome everyone back than Brian Winters," Director of Athletics Randale Richmond said. "I am looking forward to a tremendous evening with our Flash Family that has an immediate and direct impact for our student-athletes. "
Registration is now open for the auction which promises to be a fun-filled night that includes gourmet food, an open bar and a chance to meet and mingle with Kent State student-athletes and coaches. This year's auction will continue to feature a virtual component in addition to the live and silent auctions. Guests can also look forward to mini-games and raffles throughout the evening.
Winters was inducted into the Varsity "K" Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2021. He started every game in his Kent State career on the offensive line and holds the program record for career starts with 50. He was a three-time All-Conference lineman and earned the second Senior Bowl invite in program history. He went on to be drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and enjoyed a nine-year career with the Jets, Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals.
