About Kent State Cheerleading

The Kent State University Cheerleading Team serves as a representative of Kent State University and the intercollegiate athletics that they cheer for. We provide support at athletic events during the year and are a vital part of the game day experience. The Cheer Team can be seen at all home football games along with a few away games including any post season Bowl games the football team may be eligible for. They also cheer all home basketball games for both the Men's and Women's Teams during their respective seasons. Post season tournaments give the Cheer Team additional opportunities to show their support for the basketball teams as they pursue their goal towards a MAC Championship.
Our Cheerleading Team is also a vital part of the Kent Community supporting many activities throughout the year that the university sets up for us. Heritage Days Festival and The Black Squirrel Run are examples of events we have supported and participated in. When we are needed we step up to the challenge.
The KSU Cheer Team also competes at the NCA Collegiate Cheerleading Championships held in Daytona Beach Florida in early April. As part of our preparations for Nationals we like to perform at local competitions when available to get in front of a crowd to help us get ready for Daytona. Local exhibitions also give us an opportunity to showcase Kent State Cheerleading in our area and recruit local talented athletes.
