KENT, Ohio - The Kent State women's soccer team will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the program's inaugural season throughout the fall 2022 season of games.
Since first taking the pitch in 1997, the Golden Flashes have consistently been near the top of the Mid-American Conference standings. Kent State ranks third among league peers in regular season championships (3) and fourth in victories (230) over the past 25 seasons.
Head coach Rob Marinaro enters his 22nd season in this role and has been a member of the staff since the inaugural campaign. Marinaro has led the Flashes to 196 wins and is expected to become just the third coach in MAC history to reach the 200-victory milestone in the fall.
In addition to proudly displaying a commemorative logo in various ways, the program will recognize teams, student-athletes and moments from the past 25 years throughout the season on its social media pages.
An official Kent State Soccer 25-year reunion will be held in conjunction with Kent State Athletics' '50 years of Title IX' celebration during Homecoming Weekend from Friday, Sept. 30 - Sunday, Oct. 2.
The Flashes' complete 2022 schedule will be released early next week with promotional dates for home contests to be announced later in the summer.
