Ferri Claims Second MAC Wrestler of the Week Honors

KENT- Jake Ferri went 3-1 last weekend at the historical Virginia Duals and earned Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week for his efforts.
Ferri won his final three matches of the weekend including an impressive 7-6 decision over top-30 wrestler Tanner Jordan of #17 South Dakota State. He blitzed the competition on Saturday, besting Virginia's Patrick McCormick before dominating his match with Matt Ricci of the Naval Academy. Ferri handed Ricci his fifth loss of the season with a first-period fall, earning the six points at the 2:12 mark of the bout.
It is the second MAC Wrestler of the Week honors for the Billerica, Massachusetts native. He ran his record to 11-4 on the season and earned his 96th collegiate victory over the weekend. The five-year starter has amassed 77 of those as a starter at 125 pounds.
Ferri and the Golden Flashes are back in action this Sunday when they travel to Buffalo to face the Bulls. The conference bout is set to begin at 2 p.m.
