Gymnastics Showcases Skills at Blue-Gold Meet

KENT, Ohioย โ The Blue team came out victorious in Kent State Gymnastics' annual Blue-Gold exhibition meet on Sunday afternoon in the M.A.C. Center.
Heidi Schultz won the all-around title with a 39.375 for the Gold team, followed by Dani Fuertez and Nastia Rudnitskaya on the Blue squad.
Kennedy Weinpert won on vault with a 9.875. Schultz finished second in the event, while Rudnitskaya, Fuertez, Charlie Behner, and Gabby Riley all tied for third.
On bars, Sarah Haxton finished first with a 9.875, followed by Rudnitskaya in second and Kyndall Gilbert and Karlie Franz in third.ย
Nene Alvine took home the beam title in her first-ever routine in the M.A.C. Center, earning a 9.950. Schultz followed closely with a 9.900 to place second. Fuertez, Zoe Rankin, and Alyssa Guns all tiied for third.
Fuertez won on floor for the Blue team with a 9.950. Schultz earned her third top-three finish of the afternoon with a 9.925 of her own to place second, while Rankin and Grace Knurek tied for third with a 9.900 each.ย
UP NEXT
After the New Year, the Golden Flashes will kick off the 2024 season on the road at Pitt on Saturday, January 13, at 4 p.m. The Flashes will return to the M.A.C. Center to open the home schedule at the end of January when they host West Virginia on Sunday, January 28, at 1 p.m.
